Developing an ‘Uber for health’ that reaches huge scale and chasing a Unicorn is not the right approach in relation to OHCs.

This is due to three factors –

  1. It doesn’t account for the value of the peer-to-peer economy it – thus neutralising the ability to generate revenue;
  2. Users aren’t loyal to a single platform but rather follow and assemble functionality as they require, which makes developing a ‘winner takes all’ platform impossible;
  3. The matter at hand – people’s health – is generally a more private topic, not one which individuals share widely like they might a holiday picture. Intimacy and scale are conflicting and opposed notions.
